They've treated the desktop rather neglegantly for years, and now that they've come to realize the importance of the desktop (do they?) there are several open source projects out there doing the job well. One more clarification as we have many commands like javac, java, javah etc.dont we have any command which does this operation?
#Jar2exe alternative .exe#
exe for starting my application. As suggested i will use aunch4j software for doing. Thanks for the replies.Actually i require an. So take it from me or Steven King: The thing that comes out ain't the thing you put in.
Aside from losing platform independance, you also lose features like the just in time compiler. I don't know any tools that can do it right (that is, without losing functionality). As for converting java bytecode to native: Don't. The latter can be achieved using launch4j and several other open source products (though I consider launch4j to be the best one). That depends on whether you want to convert the jar file into native code or of you're looking for an exe file to start your application. Then you create a platform dependent file to run the platform independent program (not so good is it)?. You use a platform independent language to develop a program (a very good thing). You should aways consider such tools as evil.
